The difference between the three different atomization technologies of paint spray guns and their respective characteristics!
The spray gun needs to meet the requirements of the atomization technology when it is atomized, that is to say, the effect achieved by different atomization technologies is not the same, and it can be used in different industries or different products.
There are three main mainstream atomization technologies. Let's take a look at the characteristics of the three atomization technologies;
1. Traditional high-pressure atomization method
The spray pressure of traditional high-pressure spray guns is generally 4.0 bar, and the paint is atomized by the pressure of compressed air. Therefore, the atomization pressure of the air cap of the traditional spray gun must be high enough to have enough energy to atomize the paint. However, the high atomization pressure will cause the atomized paint to generate a large flow rate. When the paint flow rate is too fast When it is sprayed on the surface of the workpiece, it will produce a certain rebound to form overspray, which greatly reduces the transfer efficiency of the paint (ie the paint rate). In addition to pollution, paint is also wasted.
2. HVLP high flow and low pressure atomization method
HVLP (HighVolumeLowPressure) high flow and low pressure spraying technology is the most advanced modern spraying technology in the coating industry. What is high flow low pressure? It atomizes the paint with a very low hood atomization pressure (0.7 bar, intake pressure is 2.0 bar), thereby reducing paint loss and environmental pollution caused by overspray, with a relatively high compressed air flow (air consumption about 430 liters per minute) to supplement energy and complete atomization; HVLP was first proposed by the South Coast Air Quality Administration of California in 1988 and formulated the relevant 1151 environmental management regulations, which stipulated that only the air mist at the hood of the spray gun was provided. Only spray guns with chemical pressure lower than 0.7 bar (≤0.7 bar) and paint transfer efficiency higher than 65%, that is, HVLP spray guns, can be used in the area.
HVLP environmental protection paint-saving series spray guns are characterized by saving paint (actual use saves 15-30% paint compared to traditional spray guns) and reducing pollution. However, its air consumption of about 430 liters per minute is slightly higher than traditional spray guns. Stable compressed air supply system and a slightly different spraying method from traditional spray guns.
3. RP low flow medium pressure atomization method
RP (Reduced = reduced; Pressure = air cap air pressure) paint-saving high-efficiency series spray guns are the most advanced atomization technology, which combines the advantages of traditional spray guns and HVLP spray guns, and the air pressure of the air cap is about 1.2-1.3 bar; The paint transfer efficiency is above 65%, but the air consumption is lower than that of the traditional spray gun (295 liters per minute, the intake pressure is 2.5 bar), and the operation is very close to the traditional spray gun.
The rationale for each will be different, but the end goal is the same. Different atomization technologies can be selected according to the actual use, so that the different technical requirements and characteristics of the three can be combined to develop suitable equipment for us.
