In the early morning of February 3, Beijing time, the indoor track and field event in Gothenburg, Sweden, will be contested in several events, including the men's 60m preliminary and final. China's "flying man" Su Bingtian will perform his first show in the 2023 season in the competition. From the overall strength of the contestants, Su Bingtian is expected to win the championship.
Su Bingtian's last official competition was the Eugene World Track and Field Championships in July 2022. He successively participated in the men's 100m and men's 4m × The 100-meter relay will stop in the semi-finals and the preliminaries respectively. After adjusting and preparing for the winter training, Su Bingtian has gone to Europe a few days ago to start the new season in the indoor arena.
Influenced by the epidemic, injury and other factors, Su Bingtian's last trip to Europe for the indoor competition at the beginning of the season will be traced back to the 2019 season. In February of that year, he participated in three indoor races in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Germany. The men's 60-meter race ran five shots, and the final results were 6.52 seconds, 6.47 seconds and 6.49 seconds respectively. All three races won the championship.
In the men's 60m event, Su Bingtian's personal best score was 6.42 seconds. He is also the holder of the national record and the Asian record. In March 2018, Su Bingtian won the men's 60m runner-up at the Birmingham Indoor World Championships in 6.42 seconds. Although the number of men's 60m races has decreased in recent seasons, its competitiveness is obvious to all.
According to the men's 60m registration list, most of the 21 contestants came from Sweden, Denmark and Norway, while only Su Bingtian and Japanese contestant Tomoda Wangyang came from Asia. The 21 people will be divided into three groups. At that time, the preliminary contest will be held first, and the final contest will be held two hours later.
Among all the contestants, Su Bingtian's personal best score (6.42 seconds) was far ahead, followed by Toyoda Wangyang at 6.64 seconds, and most of the other contestants' personal best score was around 6.90 seconds. Not surprisingly, Su Bingtian will easily reach the final, and is expected to win the championship by defeating many opponents in the final, achieving a good start to the new season.
