As a common spraying tool, automatic spray guns will encounter various failures in daily use. Friends often tell the editor that the automatic spray gun is not working well. Next, Centco Spraying will tell you about the common spray pattern defects of automatic spray guns and the corresponding solutions.
1. Spray pattern defect: spray pattern deformation
Reason: The air holes (fan-shaped holes or auxiliary atomization holes) on the hood are blocked by the dry paint, so that the abnormal airflow deforms the spray fan; incorrect intake air pressure (too high/too low) causes the spray fan to disconnect or too small.
Solution: Clean the air holes on the spray gun and air cap according to the cleaning instructions; adjust the air intake pressure of the spray gun to normal air pressure.
2. Defects of the spray pattern: the center of the spray pattern is narrow and the ends are large
Reasons: The viscosity of the paint is too low, and the viscosity of the paint does not match the spraying air pressure; the spraying air pressure is too high, and the air pressure of the fan-shaped hole is too high, so that the center of the spray fan is concave; Make the center of the spray swath concave.
Solution: Adjust the paint viscosity or use a nozzle with a suitable diameter; adjust the normal air intake pressure of the automatic spray gun; use a suitable cleaning tool to clean the air holes of the air cap, and replace the nozzle set if necessary.

Third, the spray pattern defect: the paint gathers in the center, the spray pattern cannot spread
Reason: spraying air pressure is too low, fan-shaped hole air pressure is too low, not enough to press out the fan surface; paint viscosity is too high, fan-shaped hole air pressure is not strong enough to press high-viscosity paint into fan surface; nozzle is damaged, spray width adjustment knob is not turned on.
Solution: adjust the normal air intake pressure; adjust the paint viscosity, or use a nozzle with a suitable diameter. If the nozzle is damaged, replace the nozzle set; check whether the spray width adjustment knob is fully opened.
Fourth, the spray pattern defect: the spray pattern is bent in a banana shape
Reason: One of the fan-shaped holes is blocked or deformed, and the air pressure of the fan-shaped holes on both sides is inconsistent; the blockage of the atomization holes causes the air to run to the fan-shaped holes, resulting in increased air pressure in one of the fan-shaped holes.
Solution: Use a special cleaning kit to clean the hood of the automatic spray gun, and replace the nozzle kit if necessary.
Fifth, the spray pattern defect: the wet area in the spray pattern is biased to one side
Reason: The fan-shaped hole or atomizing hole is blocked or deformed, and the atomized paint tends to one side due to uneven airflow; the nozzle is damaged, and the gap between the atomizing hole in the center of the hood and the nozzle is uneven, which makes the atomized paint tend to one side.
Solution: Use a special cleaning kit to clean the hood, and replace the nozzle kit if necessary.
Sixth, the spray pattern defect: the spray pattern is twisted and inclined or S-shaped
Reason: The fan-shaped holes are blocked or deformed, and the diagonal fan-shaped holes on both sides are blocked or deformed, which makes the spray fan inclined.
Solution: Use a special cleaning kit to clean the hood, and replace the nozzle kit if necessary.
Seven, spray pattern defects: spray pattern discontinuous, beating
Reason: The nozzle of the automatic spray gun is not installed tightly, the nozzle and the air distribution ring are not completely sealed, and the air runs into the paint passage; the nozzle or the air distribution ring is not cleaned, and the paint residue makes the nozzle and the air distribution ring not completely sealed; the air distribution ring is not completely sealed; Damage to the sealing surface affects its seal with the nozzle; the gun pot vent is blocked, and the blocked gun pot vent creates a vacuum that draws air from the nozzle into the paint channel.
Solution: Use the original wrench to tighten the nozzle, use a special cleaning kit to clean the nozzle, and replace the air shunt ring. Clean the gun pot vents and replace the gun pot if necessary.
