Durant and Owen, the former Nets team-mates, have all turned to the West and will officially become direct competitors. Xinhua News Agency/Reuters
Previously, the Nets had sent superstar Michael Owen to the Lone Rangers, marking the beginning of the team's reconstruction. Now, on the trading deadline, another super giant Durant in the team has finally determined his destination. The Nets sent Durant and TJ Warren to the Suns, and got Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Jay Claude and four unprotected first-round picks from the Suns, which are the first round draft rights in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029, respectively, And 2028 draft rights.
Before this heavyweight trade, the Lakers also reached a tripartite deal with the Jazz and the Timberwolves: the Lakers got Dangillo Russell of the Timberwolves and Malik Bisley and Jared Vanderbilt of the Jazz; The Jazz won the Lakers' Westbrook, Juan Toscano Anderson, Damian Jones and the first round of protection in 2027 (1-4 protection); The Timberwolves were awarded three rounds by Sir Michael Conley, Nigel Alexander Walker.
It is obvious that after these two transactions, the western pattern of the whole league has also undergone great changes, especially after Durant joined the Suns, which also formed the "Big Four" team. For the Nets, the departure of Durant and Owen also means that the team will rebuild. At present, the Nuggets, the Grizzlies and the Kings are still in the top three in the West, the Lone Rangers, which Owen joined, are in the fourth place, and the Suns, which Durant joined, are in the fifth place in the rear row. This will be particularly interesting for the dialogue between the former teammates after they switched to the West.
Owen has made his debut on behalf of the solo rangers today, Beijing time, with 24 points and 5 assists, helping the team beat the Clippers. Durant is still recovering from injury, and it is said that he is expected to return later this month.
