Does China Allow TikTok To Sell Technology? Response From The Ministry Of For...

On March 17, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin hosted a regular press conference.
A reporter asked if China would allow TikTok to sell advanced technology to foreign or other buyers?
Wang Wenbin said that we have stated our position on relevant issues many times. We would like to reiterate once again that data security issues should not become a tool for individual countries to generalize national security concepts, abuse national power, or unreasonably suppress other countries' enterprises.
"It is particularly important to emphasize that the United States has so far failed to provide evidence to prove that TikTok poses a threat to the national security of the United States." Wang Wenbin said, "We firmly oppose the United States' generalization of the concept of national security, abuse of national power, unreasonable repression, and forced plunder of other countries' enterprises.". The United States should respect the principles of market economy and fair competition, stop unjustifiably suppressing enterprises from other countries, and provide an open, fair, impartial, and non discriminatory environment for enterprises from all countries to invest and operate in the United States.
