1. Orange peel

Definition: The surface of the coating film exhibits orange peel-like ripples above 1 mm, which is called orange peel.

cause:

1. The viscosity of the coating is too high, and the leveling agent or solvent used in the coating film is improper;

2. The distance between the spray gun and the object to be coated is far, the coating film is thin, and the substrate is rough;

3. Poor atomization of paint caused by small amount of paint spit out during spraying or low spraying pressure;

4. The temperature of the spray booth is high during the spraying of the car body, and the leveling agent in the paint does not increase the slow drying agent according to the increase of the temperature of the spray booth, which causes the solvent in the paint to volatilize quickly;

5. The paint drying time is short.

Precaution:

1. In the process of high temperature spraying in summer, it is necessary to appropriately reduce the viscosity of the paint or increase the high boiling point solvent in the paint according to the temperature change of the spray booth;

2. Adjust the spray gun distance. Generally, the distance between the spray gun and the object to be coated is 20 to 30 cm, and the thickness of the paint film should be appropriately increased.

3. The paint pressure is controlled between 0.4 and 0.6 MPa, and the automatic spraying parameters and manual spraying guns are adjusted to the best state;

4. Generally, the drying time is controlled within 5 to 10 minutes;

5. Grind the substrate flat.

Remedy:

1. After spraying, check the condition of the coating film of the body in time. When orange peel is found on the coating film, temporary manual touch-up is used on site, and it is reported to the craftsman to adjust the technological parameters;

2. Grind and polish the part of the orange peel or re-spray and dry the orange peel.
